Ferrari Land is the latest addition to the PortAventura Parks and Resort on the Costa Dorada coast, just one hour from Barcelona. The new park, costing nearly £80 million to build, is scheduled to open on the 7th April 2017.
The star attraction will be the “Vertical Accelerator”, which will be Europe’s fastest and tallest roller coaster. Modelled on Formula 1 tracks and dynamics, the roller coaster goes from a dead stop to 180 mph in five seconds and will reach heights of 367 ft.
Ferrari Land will also have two “bounce-back-towers”, more than 180 ft high, a race track and F1 simulators for adults and children, as well as a range of other activities.
The park pays tribute to the advanced technologies developed by Ferrari and its role as an emblem of Italian genius. The representation of Italy in Ferrari Land will include the iconic buildings of Maranello, the home of Ferrari, and architectural references to the historical roots of the brand.
